Stroh Juchhee 2010 – "Titanic" wins!
Stroh Juchhee - the world’s craziest horn sledge race - transformed the area around the Wiesenalm cable-car into a hubbub of excitement. More than 7,000 guests flocked to the Zillertal Arena, to marvel at the creative ideas and theatrical clownery of the 10 teams. With their “Titanic”, the team of the rural youth organisation "Landjugend Kaltenbach-Ried", who last year were awarded second place, this year proved unbeatable. In the finishing area, the ship crashed into an “iceberg” and the violinists played their final song as the giant ship broke in two. Their performance brought them the coveted "Stroh Juchhee" trophy. Second place was awarded to Zell am Ziller Football Club who were looking for "Zillertal's Next Top Model 2010", closely followed by the "Ghost Busters" of the "Landjugend Pankrazberg". And of course, there was a lot of celebrating and partying going on too! The Gasthof Wiesenalm team, along with the Rohrberg Country Women’s Institute and Young Farmers’ Association, did a splendid job of catering for the culinary needs of all the spectators. And fans of the folk music band “Die Zillertaler Haderlumpen”, many of whom had come especially, weren’t disappointed either – the band played well into the evening wrapping up Stroh Juchhee 2010 on a high note.
